I am currently sitting in the Narita International Airport (Tokyo) lobby waiting for my flight to Seoul. I have been interpretting once a month for Peter Wagner Leadership Institute Japan and they have invited me on their missions trip to Korea. It is a 10 day trip and we will literally be driving all the way around the country of Korea, starting and ending in Seoul. What a great opportunity!!!

I am excited for several reasons. 1. The relationship between Japan and Korea goes way back. 2. Korea has seen tremendous growth in the church. 3. Korea and Japan are keys countries in Asia and God will continue to use both of them!

We will be praying for the country of Korea as travel. Every day will consist of 2-4 hours of driving, stopping at city halls, state capitols and government buildings to pray for the government of the country. Each night we will have a service at a church in the city. Each night we will be spending the night at the church as well.

Really looking forward to this new experience. I have never been to Korea and I am going as a student ready and willing to learn.

Off to Kimchee Land

Per my last post, a couple that is seriously considering moving to Osaka to join us in planting the church went to Osaka last weekend to check out the city for themselves. For the last year and a half they have felt God leading them to move to Osaka, but didn’t know why. A few months ago they found out about our church plant and immediately felt a connection. LONG STORY short, they had a very profitable trip to Osaka with many many divine appointments! They went home EXCITED and COMMITTED to moving to Osaka.

We all feel that God is bringing us together and we are moving forward accordingly.

Having said that, where is where we are at with our church plant team. In addition to Kelly and I, we have two other VERY talented couples with incredible hearts to serve and commit their lives to our church plant in Osaka.

We are thrilled how God is leading, directing and providing EVERYTHING we need for our church plant in Osaka.

We are praying for 20 people to be a part of the launch team. Please join with us in praying for our (your) Osaka church plant.

I want send out a quick update and prayer request regarding our Osaka church plant team. There is a young married couple that has been talking to us about joining our church plant team in Osaka. They feel that God is leading them to join our team and they are visiting Osaka this weekend (“spying out the land”) on their own to see if this is what God wants them to do. Please join with us in praying right now for this couple and that God will speak to them very clearly (whether a clear “YES” or a clear “NO”) as they seek God about their future.

They will be in Osaka September 12-14 (Friday to Sunday). 

A little more info about this couple:

They are in their early 30s and have a 5 year old son. They grew up in the church, but both of them have their own incredible testimony of how they met God. They have committed their lives to serve God and His Church. They were both born and raised in Kyushu (southern Japan) and have never been to Osaka and know nothing about the city. A few years back they began to seek God about their future and started sensing a draw towards Osaka. It came to a point where they felt God wanted them to be a part of a church plant in Osaka, but they knew nothing about the city and had no personal contacts there. Make a long story short, they found out that Kelly and I are planning on planting a church in

Osaka and immediately felt that they are to help. They have talked to their parents, pastors and leaders and everyone seems to be on board. At this point they just want to make sure that this is of God, as do we.  One thing is for sure. God is continuing to speak, lead and provide for everything in regards to our church plant!!!!

A personal encouragement to you–What has God put on your heart? What are you doing about it? Try moving towards it and see how God will speak, lead and provide for you!
